He established the cardiac surgery residency program at Massachusetts General Hospital, founded heart transplant programs at the University of Michigan and the University of Iowa, and performed the first pediatric heart transplants in both Iowa and Michigan. What he is most proud of, however, and what I hope to honor with this project, are the relationships he built with his colleagues, patients, and students. </text>

                <text>My comic touches on the experiences of anxiety diagnosis, and the similarities and differences of diagnosis in childhood and adulthood. It explores patient voice at different ages, doctor/provider-patient relationships, and highlights the challenges that may come (for all of the various parties involved) with diagnosis and treatment of mental health disorders. My comic is based on the experiences of my friend who was diagnosed with anxiety during college, a process that has allowed her to make the connection between her childhood "illness" and her current mental health journey.</text>

The comic focuses on the two years in which Mathew was bedridden due to joint pain caused by his condition, and how that time affected his mental health in addition to his physical health. </text>
